On the first strip, at the top of text 1: a polychrome angel with sword and scabbard (red, blue). The angel is surrounded by two bands, the upper one with interlacing lines and the lower one with eyes framed in three panels. The image is partly discoloured. On the second strip, at the top of text 2: a polychrome decorated cross (red, violet, black). The cross is surrounded by two bands, the upper one with interlacing lines and the lower one with eyes framed in three panels. On the third strip, at the top of text 4: “Net of Solomon”, consisting of a stylized human face framed by four horns and four panels with eyes on the sides. The image is polychrome (red, violet, black) and is surrounded by two bands, the upper one with interlacing lines and the lower one with eyes framed in three panels. |

State of preservation |
Discrete. The scroll is kept in a small rectangular green box with the following trademark printed in silver: “Ladurée. Maison fondée en 1862. Paris” and the title “Rotolo magico Ms” written in pencil in Italian. |

The scroll was acquired by the owning institution in January 2018 after being detained by customs in 2017. |
